With this third win, the Lexus SC400 driver has increased his lead over his closest pursuer, Kevin Morin, to 60 points. In addition, with two more events on the calendar, Jonathan Guitard could beat the record for the most wins in a season achieved by Jeff Laflamme in the 2015 season with 4 wins.
Before taking the highest step of the podium in Round 4 at Autodrome Montmagny, Jonathan Guitard faced Dilan Lessard in the Top 16, then competed against Carl Harvey in the Great 8 and Dave Briggs in the Final 4 to finally defeat Alexandre Blanchette in the grand finale.
For the finalist, Alexandre Blanchette, who finished his season last year as vice-champion, had his first appearance in the final this season.
The consolation final pitted CHASE 2018 winner and former 2012 DMCC champion, Marc Landreville and 2011 DMCC vice-champion Dave Briggs of Ontario. Dave Briggs won the honors and took the final position on the podium.
